Training begins by focusing on navigating the ring properly and safely, holds, takedowns, and basic chain grappling. Trainees will also learn the pacing and general flow of a match, from the first lock up to the final three count. Knowing when to use a move is just as important as what move to use, and our beginner classes focus on developing both the mind and body of a wrestler.

In addition, FSW often invites special guests who come in to teach students and give their own unique outlook on training. Past guests include Jake The Snake Roberts, Booker T, Matt Hardy, Ted DiBiase, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Paul London, Davey Richards, and many more.

Want to be involved in the Pro Wrestling/Sports Entertainment Industry but  don’t want to be a Pro Wrestler or other performer? … We’ve got you covered.

Our Production Team Directors, Designers, and Crew Chiefs can take you under their wings and teach you what it takes to make a full-scale  Production Pro. From booking venues, to promoting the shows, to writing engaging content (e.g. headline articles, event build-ups, event results, etc.), to getting sponsorships, to setting up and tearing down the ring and light/sound rigs, to TV production, to promotional graphic design, and more. The opportunities are endless and available to those who have the passion and devote the time to learn the ropes (pun intended).

The FSW Training Academy is designed to teach fundamentals from day-one – no matter when a student starts.

No prior experience is required.

At The FSW Training Academy, our primary goal is to maintain a safe environment for our students. Pro Wrestling has inherent risks and students are required to sign a liability waiver.

We stress both respect and safety – which are two  necessary elements to navigating the sports entertainment business toward a successful career in Pro Wrestling.

New students are taken through an intensive fundamentals course to learn and perform the primary movements safely and effectively.

Absolutely Not.   Like our Adult/General Training Programs, your child can learn to be a MANAGER, VALET, REFEREE, RING ANNOUCNER, and/or a COMMENTATOR.

As part of learning to be a Pro Wrestling MANAGER, VALET or REFEREE, however, some in-ring training is required – as there are times when these characters “take a bump” (or two) from Wrestlers as part of a match storyline.

No. Everyone has to start somewhere. One of our goals is to help you get on track to a healthier lifestyle. However, being/getting in shape will most assuredly help you advance more quickly through the basics of Pro Wrestling training.

It is important to have training gear in order for students to protect themselves and fully excel in Pro Wrestling training. In addition, it is important that students keep their gear clean and dry for every class.

  • FOOTWEAR
Athletic or Wrestling Shoes that will never be worn outside.
  • KNEE PADS
You have to protect your knees in a sport where anything can happen.
  • ELBOW PADS
Elbows will get mat burn, so elbow pads or elbow tape is recommended.
  • GYM TOWEL
Sweat is inevitable. A clean gym towel for each class is recommended.
  • LOOSE TUCK-IN SHIRTS
Once again, sweat is inevitable. having a spare comfy shirt is recommended.
  • WATER
There is no water provided at training so students are responsible to bringing their own.

Every student progresses at his/her own pace, but our goal is to give each student a firm understanding of the basics and show them how to build on that strong foundation.

While there is no simple answer to how long it takes to “complete” training, our goal is to make sure you have a firm understanding of the basics – with at least six months of continuous training.

You should expect to train for at least one to two years. You may or may not be ready to perform at live events within that time frame.

The truth of the matter is that we never stop learning. The day we think you know everything is the day we should should take those boots off and hang ’em up.

Upon learning the fundementals and demonstraing an acceptable grasp of how to safely execute maneuvers within the ring, students who stay in the training program and continue to learn advanced techniques and develop their characters can earn the advanced opportunity to perform at special FSW FUTURESHOCK and HIGH OCTANE shows alongside adult and advanced students and experienced Professional Wrestlers.

This is not only excellent exposuren but also great experience for our students. *at the discretion of the FSW Training Academy Staff and Booking Promoters.

Students are required to attend FSW live events to serve as Ring Crew, Security, and Event Staff in order to learn about all aspects of the live event business.

There are no guarantees in any type of sports or entertainment professions. Even top draft picks don’t always end up in the major leagues.

The one thing The FSW Training Academy can guarantee is a strong foundation in the wrestling business with an emphasis on teaching both TV and house show-style wrestling – as well what it takes to succeed in the locker room.

You will learn proper locker room etiquette along with with respect for those in and out of the ring.

You never know who is watching, or who you might be talking to or how that may affect your career or the company you work for.
