VIDAL vs VANDAGRIFF IV – CAREER vs TITLE

Jai Vidal Puts His FSW Career On The Line Against Matt Vandagriff’s No Limits Title at SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

They’re two of the most popular and athletically dynamic Professional Wrestlers on the scene today – and on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at FSW SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, current 2x FSW No Limits Champion, MATT VANDAGRIFF, and former 2x No Limits Champion, JAI VIDAL, bring their months-long rivalry to its inevitable climax as Jai Vidal puts his FSW career on the line against Vandagriff’s No Limits Title.

PRECURSOR

In many ways, Vidal’s and Vandagriff’s Professional Wrestling journies mirrored each other as they paved their way through the ranks of the Independent Wrestling circuit.

Jai Vidal began his wrestling career in 2016 in Dania Beach, Florida at Gangrel’s Wrestling Asylum – learning the foundations of his skill from The Vampire Warrior himself.

Similarly, Matt Vandagriff’s wrestling journey also began in 2016 at Santino Brothers Wrestling School in Bell Gardens, California.

In 2019, both Vidal and Vandagriff relocated to Las Vegas, NV – The Mecca of Professional Wrestling – and began to make their respective mark in FSW as Tag Teams competitors . . .

Throughout their initial formative years in FSW, Vidal and Vandagriff would frequently travel and compete together throughout the Southwestern United States  . . .

DIVERGENCE

As both Vidal and Vandagriff grew in their respective skills and prowess, their respective paths would begin to lead each in different directions and title-seeking destinies.   As The Unguided, Vandagriff and Drake, would become FSW Tag Team Champions in 2021, while Vidal would branch out and snatch singles gold as the PCW Ultra Light Heavyweight Champion.

Vidal would ring in 2022 with a bang on December 31, 2021 at FSW NEW YEARS RESOLUTION by defeating The Ultimate Finesser, CHRIS BEY, to win the FSW No Limits Championship – his first ever FSW Championship.

This would ignite an incredible undefeated streak for Vidal – including a most impressive victory against three other top competitors in a Fatal Four-Way match at FSW MECCA VII.

So impressive was Jai Vidal’s winning streak – and with an ever-growing confidence – in April 2022, Vidal announced that he would be initiating his FUTURESHOCK NO LIMITS OPEN CHALLENGE to/for anyone on the FSW Roster – with each challenge being for the FSW NO LIMITS CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Vidal would continue to prove himself a most formidable No Limits Champion as he accepted challenge after challenge – successfully defending his No Limits Championship every time.

That is until  . . . .

CONVERGENCE

On May 29, 2022, at LET IT RIDE – the blockbuster finale of the FULL TILT COLLECTIVE WEEKEND 2022 – Vidal agreed to defend his No Limits Title in a FIVE-MAN GAUNTLET MATCH.  Demanding “Champion Privilege,” Vidal would be the fifth and final entrant into the gauntlet match and face the remaining survivor of the four preceding gauntlet competitors – MIDAS CREED, THE ROTATION, BODHI YOUNG PRODIGY, and none other than The Aerial Chemist, MATT VANDAGRIFF.

The Rotation defeated Midas Creed to advance through the gauntlet to face the 15-year-old phenom, Bodhi Young Prodigy – who would land a 450 Frogsplash from the top rope to both shock and defeat The Rotation to advance one step closer to facing Jai Vidal for the FSW No Limits Championship.   Standing in his way, however, would be a roadblock by the name of Matt Vandagriff.

Vandagriff would waste little time putting away Young Prodigy to advance to the final round . . . to face the fresh – and at this point supremely confident – FSW No Limits Champion, Jai Vidal.

Once bonded brothers were now circumstantial rivals – with the prize being the FSW No Limits Championship.   As would be expected from two highly skilled athletes, both Vidal and Vandagriff fought with an “everything to lose” ferocity.  For Vidal, at risk was his prized No Limits Title (and the prestige/respect that such demands).  For Vandagriff, it was his opportunity to win his first-ever FSW singles championship.

Attempting to pick the bones of Vandagriff after Bodhi’s Super Destroyer in the prior round, Vidal targeted Vandagriff’s head with a series of roundhouse kicks.   Catching Vandagriff through the ropes, Vidal spiked him with a modified piledriver – inflicting further damage on Vandagriff’s already weakened neck. Muscling up Vidal into a buckle bomb, Vandagriff speared Vidal for a two count.  Maneuvering to put Vidal away with a Power Bottom Bomb, Vandagriff instead rolled Vidal into a jackknife cover for the shocking upset victory.

In an absolute shocker to the entire FSW Meccaverse, Matt Vandagriff successfully dethroned Jai Vidal to become the NEW FSW NO LIMITS CHAMPION !!!

STRATEGEM

In a video testimonial released on June 3, 2022, the new FSW No Limits Champion declares and defines the kind of Champion he intended to be  . . .

Conversely, the now former Champion, Jai Vidal, was determined to invoke his contractual rematch clause as soon as possible  . . .

VIDAL vs VANDAGRIFF II

The wait would not be long for the much anticipated No Limits Title rematch between the now former champion, Jai Vidal, and new champion, Matt Vandagriff.   The setting . . .  FSW’s 13 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SPECTACULAR on June 19, 2022.

In what would be one of the most brutally hard-fought contests in FSW history, both Vandagriff and Vidal pulled no punches in each’s focused effort to emerge victorious.

At one point in the match, Vandagriff accidentally struck the Referee – leaving the Official dazed and confused in the ring corner. Vidal would use the opportunity to deliver an illegal low-blow to Vandagriff.  With the Referee slowly collecting himself, Vidal quickly unleashed a Shiny Wizard/Vidal Power-Bottom Bomb combo assault – putting away Vandagriff for the full-and-final three-count and once again becoming FSW NO LIMITS CHAMPION.

VIDAL vs VANDAGRIFF III

After his defeat and loss of the No Limits Title to Jai Vidal at FSW’s 13th Anniversary, Matt Vandagriff endured through the next 30+ days with a definitive chip on his shoulder.  Now 2X No Limits Champion, Jai Vidal, certainly didn’t pull any punches since regaining the title – arrogantly flaunting the No Limits Title belt and his success on social media . . . and making sure the world knew it too.

On July 22, 2022, however – at FSW HIGH OCTANE: NEW BEGINNINGS – Matt Vandagriff would get his contractual No Limits Title rematch against Jai Vidal.

FSW High Octane New Beginnings Jai Vidal vs Matt Vandagriff

Reveling in his rejuvenated Champion status, an overly cocky Vidal entered the FSW Arena with a copy of the latest issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated containing his feature story within.   Jai Vidal’s demeanor has been brash in recent weeks, and this night was no exception as Vidal arrogantly hesitated in surrendering his championship belt to the Referee.

At the opening bell – with both competitors outside of the ring – Vandagriff hurls Vidal into the guardrail followed by a vicious powerbomb on the ring apron.  Begging for mercy on his knees, Vidal finds his opening and unleashes a flurry of midsection punches and chops upon Vandagriff.

Vidal and Vandagriff take the brawl within the Fan bleachers where Vandagriff tosses Vidal onto the bleacher rails.

Demanding the Referee commence a 10-count, Vidal arrogantly believes he has the match won – that is until  Vandagriff fights his way into the ring at the last second.  Vidal begins to employ a myriad of dirty tactics – including pulling Vandagriff’s hair, stomping a mudhole, and slapping a seated Vandagriff in the corner.

Vidal drops Vandagriff face first with a triangle springboard DDT onto the ring apron.  Vandagriff is able to hit Vidal with a “sweet dream,” but Vidal is able to reach the bottom rope to halt the Referee’s 3-count.  Vidal attempts a Power Bottom Bomb,  but Vandagriff flips Vidal over into a jackknife cover to successfully score the pinfall victory and, once again, become the FSW No Limits Champion.

Clearly enraged at, once again, losing the No Limits Championship to Matt Vandagriff,  Vidal accuses Vandagriff of robbing him of every major moment he has had in FSW.  Vidal decides to invoke his contractual rematch clause and demands a title match against Vandagriff on August 21, 2022 at SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST.

This time, however, Vidal proclaims it will be the last time – as he arrogantly puts his FSW career up against Vandagriff’s No Limits Championship.  If Vidal cannot defeat Vandagriff and regain the No Limits Title, Vidal will leave FSW.

Without hesitation, Vandagriff accepts Vidal’s challenge

VIDAL vs VANDAGRIFF IV

On August 22, 2022 at SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, two arch-rivals will face off for the last time in a CAREER vs TITLE MATCH.  If Jai Vidal does not succeed in defeating Matt Vandagriff and become the FIRST EVER 3X FSW NO LIMITS CHAMPION . . . Jai Vidal will leave FSW.
